What You REALLY Need to Start Learning Photography

Okay, some of us (a lot) actually want to start learning photography. But, let's be honest, just like anything else in life, there's a first time for everything. It is never easy, I've been there, done that.

So, before you get yourself a new camera and start to look like a 5 years old in a chemistry class, here's 5 tips from me about what you really need before you started your photography journey.

1. Make sure you have it

And by have it, I mean you really have a feel to it, you want to do it, not just for instagram followers, not just for likes, but because you really admire the beauty of photography.

Done? If you still have that butterfly in your stomach about photography, let's move on to the next tips.

2. Start small

Okay, let's say you already make up your mind. You are dead sure that you love photography, so you go to the camera store and get yourself a Cannon 5D Mark IV. Wrong.
To be fair, if you have the money of an Arabian prince, then by all means, get the most expensive camera. But remember, expensive camera tends to target the professional crowds that need every little bit of settings possible.
For a newbie, it could feels like trying to understand Einstein's famous equation that people used when they want to look smart.
So start with the very basic setup, and safe yourself from that confusing things. Hell, even your IPhone would do just fine, so start with what you have or what you can afford, and save up some money for more important things in life.

3. Practice makes perfect

So, you have your camera, it's good and all, but you have to use it to make photos. So go out, take some photo, and repeat the process.
Remember the key words here, practice makes perfect.

You don't think Mozzart can compose a music since he was born, do you?.

4. Get notice (and comments)

Okay, this morning you go out and take some photo in your local park. But, you don't know is it good or not, right?.
So share your photos online, and always ask for a comment, it's a nice way to get a feedback that you can use to improving your skill.
You know, just like that cute girl you really like, if you never ask her out, she will never know your intention, so ask her out (just don't be a creep with your camera, if you got arrested, don't blame me).

5. Keep on learning

There's a saying that "a man with an empty mind would look like a sack of potato".

Okay maybe not.

But, being smart is good, so why not?
Always learn about how to create a more creative photo, how to maximize the potential of your camera, and probably the most important, learn some quotes from successful photographers.
They were here before you, so you definitely could learn some wisdom from them.

So there you go, 5 tips that I think really important for you to have, if you want to learn about photography. Stay tune for my next post, I'll be posting a lot, just started blogging with a lot of fresh idea. Thank you if you go through all my (probably redundant) tips, have a good day.
